Episode 1
Justice Whilst Growing Up (Turkish)
In this opening episode of the second season of the Justice Atlas, we talk with psychoanalyst and writer Nilüfer Erdem and poet and writer Murathan Mungan about the moral development that we go through while growing up. Based on Hans Christian Andersen's tale, Red Shoes, we discuss the primitive world that the fairy tales call to, how we discover the ‘other’ in this world and how we build a sense of justice.
Here are some of the questions that we are seeking for answers:
How is justice established in fairy tales? How do these texts translate into contemporary meanings of morality? Why do the texts that we remember from childhood often contain breaking moments related to justice? How does poverty shape the sense of justice? How do children's own malices raise them?
